Hello Roadrunner Families,
As we look ahead to the upcoming school year, I would like to personally welcome all new and returning Roadrunner families to Coles Elementary School.
Our goal is to provide a World Class Education to your children. We strive to promote a school culture that supports the academic growth, personal development and social growth of elementary school students. We are here to teach and learn from each other. We believe in promoting positive self-esteem, character building, a love for learning and a belief that all children can and will learn. It is our job to prepare them for success and happiness through their elementary school years.

As your principal, I am proud and honored to work with the students, teachers, parents and the Coles Community. I welcome your children and you to a Professional Learning Community School filled with pride, high expectations and an outstanding group of teachers and staff who genuinely care about your children.
We have been named as a Prince William CountySchool of Excellence seven times and a recognized Competence to Excellence School for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Therefore, our academic expectations are high. Students are expected to learn the curriculum and exceed the Standards of Learning.
At Coles, we want all students reading on or above grade level before they enter third grade. Therefore, we will often ask for your help in reading with your child a minimum of 20 minutes daily. We have a wonderful library filled with fun and exciting books to read. You’re more than welcome to start selecting titles now from our website to assist you with planning for the year. Remember, READ, READ and then READ some more!
Coles is a Bully-free school. Your children will be safe and most of all, they will feel safe. We expect our students to be respectful to ALL adults, other students and to be willing learners. They are expected to be Quality Students and partners in their education with their teachers and parents.
We believe when we expect more, we get more from our students. Our curriculum is rigorous, relevant and we hope to create a relationship with our students that will prepare them for a lifetime of learning.
